An Attractive 18th Century Estate Lake

Nestled in the Leicestershire countryside Willesley has been the heart of local carp fishing since the late 70s.

About

ABOUT

Willesley has been the heart of local carp fishing since the late 70's, Attracting both local lads and those from further afield.

Throughout the 80's, 90's and 2000's the lake has seen many keen anglers come and go, often claiming a special place in their hearts in the process.

Around 24 acres in size and famed for its leney looking commons and cracking mirrors too!

The lake has changed ownership over the years firstly ran by Derbyshire & North West Leicestershire A.S then onto The Hart. In 2010 the lake progressed as a mixed fishery until things turned a little sour.

Fast forward to April 2024 and Scott Rodgers and Richard Cox aquired the lease with the aim of developing it into a superb carp fishing syndicate.

Willesley is a stunning looking lake steeped in history & memories for many and we have always believed it has the potential to be one of the best waters in the midlands! Now we are going to prove it!

OUR MISSION

We firmly believe Willesley should be one of the best Carp Fisheries in the Midlands and our mission is to make that belief a reality! Over the next 2-3 years we plan to acheive this with the following plan of attack:

01

Stock Management

We plan to net and remove a large amount of the silver fish present, giving the carp more room and food to grow. To boost the already great stock of fish we will be investing £10000 this winter on 20lb Carp (these will be mainly commons).

An ongoing stocking programme will be adopted going forward.

02

Water Quality & Feed

With a combination of lime and Siltex we hope to reduce the amount of deep silt in problem areas, In turn releasing nutrients into the lake and improving water quality.

A feeding programme will be implemented to encourage an avalanche of new 30lb fish to come through in the next 12 - 18 Months.

03

Swims, Track & Security

Extensive swim and tree work is already planned for this year (2024) Rebuilding damged platforms where required, Dead trees to be taken down creating a safer environment for all.

Muddy areas to be addressed and gravel barrow tracks to be laid.

Site security to be increased with security cameras and barbed wire.
